Note that mentioning skills that can only be played as self-cast doesn’t count. This is about comparing the totem, mine, trap and trigger versions of skills that can do one or more of those things with straight-up casting them directly. And making a convincing case for why the self-cast option is better. You can make situational cases, if desired, such as ‘it’s better on single targets’ or ‘it’s better for map clear’ or ‘it’s lends itself to MFing more. 2. Easier access to cast speed scaling for better clearspeed (mines/traps can be somewhat slow and limited, totems inheritely have reduced cast speed + placement speed)

8. Reflect rares are gone so random reflect one shots aren’t a problem like they were in the past for direct damage builds compared to traps/mines/totems

9. Saves a support gem in your skill setup (remote mine, spell totem, … whatever the trap one is)

10. Storm call spell cascade 1 fps meme builds. Entertaining to watch. I’m the only person who actually gave a list instead of bitching it seems. Obviously my answers aren’t concrete proof that self casting is better. In many situations it’s not. And I disagree with like half my points. But I tried my best to complete your challenge for the sake of completing the challenge. I would like my reward thanks.

If you use totems or traps, they will aim the first bounce at the monsters feet. For optimal damage, you want to aim at your own feet, and make sure the monster is hit by the 4th or 5th bounce.

Top 14 Tips New Players Need To Know

In Path of Exile, for new players, some good tips will save them a lot of unnecessary time, I hope the following tips will also have such effect. Not much to say, let’s dive into these Path of Exile tips.

1) Don’t obsess over the speed others are clearing content, some prefer racing but there is no tangible reward except for bragging rights, just enjoy the ride.

2) Activate the default loot filter (or use a downloaded one like Neversink) in the options UI tab.

3) Plan out your skill tree early on, at least 60 points in advance so you don’t regret it later on.

4) Collect all currency items like chaos orbs, fusing orbs, transmutation orbs, including scrolls of wisdom and portal scrolls

5) Try not to use most of the currency items (except the most common ones like transmutation, alteration, alchemy orbs and low tier essences) since you can use these items to purchase much better items from players. And there are some poe items for trade on U4GM.

6) The most valuable currency items are: Mirror of Kalandra, Exalted orbs, Divine orbs, Gemcutter’s prisms, Chaos orbs, Vaal orbs and Fusing orbs (descending order from most valuable)

7) Ctrl+Alt+Click links the item in chat.

8) Instances reset between 8 – 15 minutes, don’t go afk for too long while your portal is up or it will close once the instance resets (It wont reset if you are inside it but then you are vulnerable to monsters that wander around).

9) Ctrl+click on the next area will reset your instance if for any reason you want to regrind that area (can be used on waypoints as well).

10) Resistances are important! They get reduced after act 5 and after act 10, be sure to cap them if you can (75%), chaos resist is not that important, it is more of a luxury stat.

11) Take caution when lvling gems as all of them have a stat requirement! Sometimes you will acquire items that have dext, str or int on them, this will enable you to level most of your gems, but once you get rid of these items the gems will be useless.

12) Hardcore characters are not deleted but sent to standard so you can continue playing them.

13) If you want to craft a multi-link white item into a better rarity, FIRST apply blacksmiths whetstones/armorers scraps on the white item, THEN use a transmutation orb or an alchemy orb.

14) Hold alt while hovering over the item to check its item level (important for crafting later on or checking if you can make the chaos recipe with them).

Why Can’t We Have the Fun Aspects of Both Instead in Path of Exile?

As an experienced player, I like to explore all the game has to offer when I play. That means I like to have my uber lab done on all of my characters, a mostly completed atlas, access to guardians, shaper, uber elder, leveled masters when I want some crafting done, and eventually set a nice elder ring on my atlas or use sextants, whatever makes my map sustain not feel clunky. I like to do all of these by myself as much as I can. Also, a easy way for you to gain poe items fast is to poe buy items on U4GM.

Elder ring and masters is the real bullshit here. Other things are minor annoyances imo but levelling masters to 8 every 3 months (rip your life if breach is zana 8 in a league again) and the stupid elder ring that massively increases profits is just antifun.

The points I’m trying to make are:
1. It’s not fun to manipulate elder influence. Elder ring “mechanic” is very rewarding, and very unfun (probably subject to nerf too but that’s another story).

2. It’s just not fun at all to get masters to 8. In any league. It’s rewarding, but it’s not fun.

3. It’s not fun to be less efficient than you were the league before. It’s a bad feeling when you could run maps smoothly but cant sustain them. It’s not fun when your build can do all content but you don’t have access to that content.

4. It’s exciting to get your uber trials one by one. It is not exciting to get your 12th burning rage when you are missing your last trial.

5. It’s very exciting to do uber elder. There is nothing more frustrating on earth than spawning t15 elder. This is not a fun mechanic at all. It just highlights all the bad aspects of rng at once, the atlas map drops rng, the shaper/elder influence rng, the elder spawn rng.

I don’t want to have to choose between standard and temp leagues. Why can’t we have the fun aspects of both instead?

Path Of Exile: GGG Announced The Skill Usage Statistics

In Path of Exile official website, GGG announced the interesting stats that was some popular skills list among players. Next, u4gm will tell you which skills are popular among players.

1. First up, they announced a list of every skill gem, in order of most to least used, across all of Bestiary, regardless of level. This does not include skills that are tied to a specific item – only skill gems.

2. Fire is a popular damage type to build around. It’s also clear that, at least while levelling, the ability to traverse small gaps via Flame Dash and Leap Slam is highly valued.

3. The most popular Vaal skills are both auras, with the great majority of Vaal skills being hardly used. Many of these skills have received nerfs since their release, while very few have received buffs. This is something we’re keenly aware of and hope to have more news about in the coming weeks.

4. Whether you’re playing Solo Self-Found or not, the utility skill choices are of extremely similar popularity, with the actual determining factor being whether you’re playing Hardcore or not. On Standard versions of Bestiary, Leap Slam is the movement skill of choice, closely followed by Shield Charge.

Hardcore players, however, put a lot of value on the survivability that a shield can provide, and may be playing builds that don’t allow for Leap Slam, pushing Shield Charge to the top.

5. Standard Bestiary players tend to run Ice Golem, indicating a preference for attacking or crit builds, while the SSF Bestiary players opted for Stone Golem, a build-agnostic defensive choice. The prominence of Ancestral Warchief and Blood Rage across all versions of Bestiary reinforces.

6. Once players are deep into the endgame, it’s interesting to see that Shield Charge becomes more popular.

7. Vaal Haste, the 44th most popular skill across all characters regardless of level, makes it to 7 among high-level Standard Bestiary characters. Interestingly, it replaces Herald of Ash, which no longer appears on any of the lists at this high level.

8. Portal makes an appearance in both versions of Standard Bestiary, topping out at 4 on the trading league. It doesn’t appear at all on any Hardcore lists, since a portal does you no good if you’re dead there.

Could We Save These Skill In Path Of Exile 3.3?

In Path of Exile 3.3, I hope that GGG will save some skills that includes Rejuvenation Totem, Frost Wall, Devouring Totem, Vigilant Strike and Puncture don’t really serve much purpose.

These could be really cool support skills if they had some mechanics changes to them. Frost Wall especially was a very cool support skill that was used as far back as pre 1.0 for very hard encounters and was very tactical and is now in such a sad state nobody uses it for any reason.

I would love to see Rejuvenation Totem have more effects or options or ways to progress it – something. People complain about supports in PoE but I think this skill could make playing support a little more interesting.

One player think that Frost Wall is great in a CWDT setup for wanding and some spellcasting. It’s definitely more of a leveling skill, but he have taken it in mapping (he think he even did CWDT-IC-FW-Phase Run once for a Ranged Attack Totem Scion). It’s sorta like how Cast on Death-Portal is awesome for leveling and then you make space for something else.

And some players think that Frost Wall is niche useful and is probably dramatically underused by projectile builds. Rejuvenation Totem and Devouring Totem probably just need numerical buffs. The mechanics are fine. Devouring is much better than before now that Unearth and Desecrate are actually working well for corpse generation.

They also said that Vigilant Strike is a candidate to be redesigned for viability as a main skill, but it currently niche useful for certain types of builds.

They think that Puncture is fine already. Just because it’s off-meta doesn’t mean it’s bad. Barrage is probably still better as a single target for bow builds though. Barrage is OP because of how many ways of getting additional arrows exist in the game now. Puncture could be buffed entirely through itemization (better global phys/ailment scaling). Doesn’t need a redesign. What’s your opinion?
